About the prize

We are happy to begin this year by announcing the cradle poetry contest. This prize will be awarded by arts lounge. The aim of this contest is to instill poetry reading and writing culture in secondary school students, in Nigeria.

This contest will award cash prize to students who show exceptional talent in poetry.

In addition to that, all long-listed poems would be published on our website and on hard copies.

Our Judges

We have three seasoned scholars in our panel of judges. These are: Chisom Okafor, Ojo Taiye and Blessing Nwodo.

Submission Guidelines

Students, through the help of their parents/guardians/teachers, should send their poems to the email address, bestmichael123@gmail.com.

Send only one poem on any theme of your choice.

Poems should be sent as word attachment. Only the details of students: names, country, school, class, age, should appear on the body of the email.

Poems must be original works of the students. Any foul play by any adult would lead to disqualification of the child.

The decision of our esteem judges is final.

Submission should be made from 13th of January to 13th of March 2020. Any submission outside this stated date will not be considered.
