Following a longlist of 11 renowned authors, and subsequent short list of three, the Son of the House by Cheluchi Onyemelukwe has whisked the most prestigious and highly coveted $100,000 prize for Nigerian Literature. The winner was announced in a private ceremony today.

The Son of the House was shortlisted alongside two other strong contenders: the Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Dare and Colours of Hatred by Obinna Udenwa. Congratulations to Cheluchi, on this defining and victorous moment of her life.
