To mourn the late South African Literary Icon, individuals and organizations have taken to several media outlets to share their heart felt tributes.
We have put together a few of them in reverence of her memory.
“Shocked and saddened at the news of Sindiswa Seakhoa’s passing.
Sis Sindi was a versatile artist – a musician, poet, playwright and actress.
Through wRites Associates Sis Sindi and her husband, Raks Morakabe Seakhoa have dedicated themselves to the promotion of the country’s literary heritage by promoting books and their authors.
They have also founded the South African Literary Awards (SALA) in this regard.
Condolences to Bra Raks, the children, families, friends and the country’s artistic and literary communities.”

“Just seeing updates on the SALA (South African Literary Awards) page of the passing of the very gracious, kind soul, playwright, poet, musician, artist Sindiswa Seakhoa who dedicated her life to celebrating literature and enhancing literacy in SA.
I first met her ten years ago when my novel Sophia gained recognition at SALA and we would have many dotted conversations over the years about breaking new ground in SA lit, art and music.
Condolences to the team at the Write Associates, SALA, the Miriam Tlali Reading and Bookclub, and to Raks Morakabe Seakhoa and family. Loss cannot be measured, I wish you strength through this grief.”
