tonight/ i want to have another breath with God/ my tongue flaming of supplications/ this way the weightiness of my knee matters the earth// my eyes are hydroplanes/ struggling to take of/ into an unknown future// where a thick fragrance of hope flower wets the air// my mother taught me the secret of prayer/ first/ you/ hurl your mind into a galaxy of colors/ & swallow your heart/ with a string of ninety-nine prayer beads/ draped in your right hand// she said/ in a blink of an eye/ it unchoices God to prehend one’s prayer/ in His own hands// i have fell into many empty moons/ a multitude of nights/ & got my body scabbed as scapegoated potatoes/ on days i forgot God like drugs// So i tell God/ here is my hand/ father/ i am back home// light me candles of protection/ dip my soul in your bowl of mercy/ fence my eyes from myopia/ and/ lord/ hi/
