Arts Lounge Literary Magazine invites screen writers for a day writing workshop. The online workshop which is themed, The Art of Screenwriting will be facilitated by Wapah Ezeigwe.
Wapah Ezeigwe is a Nigerian filmmaker. They graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where they studied Literature and was a contributor for the longest surviving West African students’ literary journal founded by Professor. Emeritus Chinua Achebe, THE MUSE JOURNAL. They further studied at PEFTI film institute, Lagos, where they graduated with a Distinction in Film Directing and had their final film project shortlisted for the PEFTI Art Festival Awards. They later earned a scholarship to partake in the online Sundance Collab Course, 2021.
Wapah interned in the media industry for a period of one year during which they were inspired to make YouTube documentaries that explore everyday issues affecting humanity. They are currently amongst the twenty young West African filmmakers selected for the MultiChoice Talent Factory, 2022. Their debut short film COUNTRY LOVE, released in 2022, has screened at the Canadian screen award qualifying Vancouver Queer film Festival, and was recently selected to also screen at the Academy Awards qualifying Out On Film Festival, Atlanta.
The workshop is free and is scheduled for 20th November, 2022.
