After their much-anticipated short film Country Love toured the film festival circuit including an Academy Award qualifying film festival and a Canadian screen award qualifying film festival, Country Love now streams on diverse platforms like Amazon prime U.S and U.K, Gaybinge streaming platform, and to be released in 2023 on Emmy-Nominated Open Television (OTV) streaming platform and Mansa, a new black culture streaming platform co-founded by popular Hollywood actor David Oyelowo and Nate Parker. Wapah Ezeigwe is now currently in pre-production for his second short film titled A LITTLE TIME LEFT. A film about ‘queer’ love, loss, fulfillment and music, the film centers a piano genius who in the care of his compassionate lover battles a degenerative disease.
When Arts Lounge reached out to Ezeigwe on this upcoming work, the young filmmaker revealed that the film has just concluded its casting process, with lead roles going to actors, Myde Glover and Kem Ajieh Ikechukwu. Wapah Ezeigwe is the film’s writer and director. Bubbling with great anticipation, the filmmaker said ‘I am ecstatic and at the same time solemn each time I have a project in view. This would be the second film I would be making, and I just want to be very meticulous about every bit of the process in creating a work that would transcend borders but most especially would tug at our heartstrings.”
