THE JUDGES
Chinaecherem Obor is an Igbo writer and editor. His fiction was second runner-up for the University of Alabama’s Don F. Hendrie Jr Prize for Fiction. His nonfiction appeared in the Selves Afro Anthology of Creative Nonfiction and he is currently the Fiction Editor of Black Warrior Review at the University of Alabama where he is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing.

Ogochukwu Ukwueze teaches literary theory and criticism in the Department of English and Literary Studies, University of Nigeria Nsukka. His interests and publications cover the areas of African and World Literature, Popular Culture, Critical Disability and Humour.
He co-edited _Big Brother Naija and Popular Culture in Nigeria.

This literary prize, worth 100,000 naira, will be awarded to a single poem by an African writer, that raises awareness about mental health and at the same time demonstrates the transforming power of literature. Winning work will also echo the chances of survival from mental health issues.
