On the 16 December, 2024, the Hilltop Creative Arts Foundation announced the shortlisted entries for the A.S ABUGI National Prize for short story, via the Minna: City of Literature website.
The Award for Creative Writing is an initiative of Alkasim Abdulkadir on behalf of the family in memory of their late father Alhaji Abdulkadir S. Abugi. This accounts for the name given.

Only one winner would be walking away with the cash prize of N100, 000.
