2024 started well. Prior to 2024, I enrolled in a Diploma in International Montessori Education. Before I started, I believed, for whatever reason, that my registration would cost one hundred thousand naira and the exam fee three hundred thousand naira. The payment could be made in installments, so I began paying bit by bit.
Then in March, I discovered that the exam fee was three hundred and fifty US dollars, not three hundred and fifty thousand naira. That was when I became worried, depressed, and down. I wondered how I would raise three hundred and fifty US dollars. It seemed impossible.
My faith in God went missing. I would wake up at night, cry, and ask God how the money would come. I am a private school teacher whose monthly salary goes entirely to transportation expenses. I called the management of the school and told them I thought it best to discontinue the program, as I wouldn’t be able to meet the payment deadline. The coordinator encouraged me not to.
One day, I was at work and said “hello” to an old friend. As the conversation progressed, I told her how tough things had been and about the deadline to pay 350 US dollars before the end of August for my Montessori International Exams.
She sent me an address and asked me to meet someone there. Upon getting there, an envelope was handed to me. When I got home, I opened the envelope, and inside was 500 US dollars.
I broke into tears. Tears of joy. My eyes couldn’t believe it. I was able to pay for my International Diploma in Montessori before the deadline and settle all my outstanding debts as well. God gave me a new song through an old friend.
