The Nigeria International Poetry Convention (NIPCON) 2025, a flagship project by Absolute Poetry Foundation returns with a powerful theme, “Poetry Without Borders: Rewriting Equality,” bringing poets, spoken-word artists, cultural practitioners, and social advocates together to explore how creative expression can challenge inequality and reshape narratives of justice and dignity.

Aligned with the 2025 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, NIPCON’2 positions poetry and performance as tools for advocacy, healing, and social intervention—particularly in a time when inequality and gender-based violence increasingly manifest across digital and social spaces.

The convention is scheduled to hold on December 19-20, 2025 in Abuja, Nigeria, and will feature a rich lineup of activities including a Keynote Session, Panel Discussions,

Performances, Breakout Sessions, a Poetry Slam, and Masterclasses. These sessions are designed to equip participants with both artistic and advocacy-driven skills while amplifying marginalized voices and lived experiences.

Speaking on the vision behind the event, the organizers describe Poetry Without Borders: Rewriting Equality as “a gathering of people who believe that art and creativity can change the world.” By merging art with activism, NIPCON’25 creates space for reflection, dialogue, and collective action.

The convention is open to poets, writers, performers, youth, activists, and members of the public interested in art, equality, and social change.
