Yesterday is now history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift,
That is why it is called the present
But somehow most people don’t get it,
Yesterday is now gone
And we must go with the flow of today…

When I, as a lady I’m assertive
I’m a bitch!
But when a man is assertive
His a boss
Why? why do I have to suffer
And be slave to the caveman like intuition
Of me as a lady, being frail

Unknown to the haters,
The cavemen, their insensitive actions
Drives us to achieve
To push for equality
And equal rights to happiness
Freedom to be humans
And not just household objects

Our sorrows are not seen
Our tears cannot be deciphered
From the tears of smoke, to that of pain
we’ve become part of the decorations
That can be changed
When it stops looking pleasing
To the ‘master’…
Or gets dusty and old

We love our cradle to grave job
Of being a mother and wife
But we just desire equality
Is that too much to ask?
We want to work, and strive
We want to read and learn
We are humans, we are women.
