As climate change continues to ravage our planet and extreme weather events met untold hardship on people all over the world, Arts Lounge Literary Magazine, through the Green we Left Behind Project continues to create awareness on climate change through Literature and the Arts. We do this by sharing and documenting the stories of how our lives and that of our children are affected by climate change, while suggesting possible ways to mitigate and adapt to our ever-changing world. This time we wish to create awareness by sharing our stories through photographs, paintings and visual artworks.
The Green we Left Behind Photographs/ Visual Arts Storytelling on Climate Change Contest, which is sponsored by the French Embassy in Nigeria and Brittle Paper, is an online contest that will continue to expand awareness and conversations on climate change. Because visual art is widely appreciated and engaged by people of all backgrounds, this project will engage a wide range of audience in climate change conversations and actions. As a result, participants, whose works steer the most reactions and engagements will emerge in the longlist, and possibly as winners. All longlisted entries will be featured in the Green we Left Behind Online Catalogue to be produced at the end of the project.
