Zaynab Iliyasu Bobi has been announced the winner of the inaugural Akachi Chukwuemeka prize Literature, for her poem, A Conversation  Between A Cyborg And A Therapist. The announcement was made at an online event held on Saturday, 13th May, 2023 in the memory of Akachi Chukwuemeka and to raise mental health awareness. Portraiting As A Cat In A Poem Where I Have Lived Six Times By Muhammed Sanni Olowonjoyin and I Do Not Know What to Tell You By Chidozie Emesowum were listed as honorary mentions.

Zaynab Iliyasu Bobi, Frontier I, is a Nigerian-Hausa poet, digital artist and photographer from Bobi studying  Medical Laboratory Science at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto. She is the winner of the Gimba Suleiman Hassan Gimba ESQ Poetry Prize 2022, a Pushcart and Best of The Net Nominee with works in Strange Horizons, Fiyah Literary Magazine, CutBank Literary Journal, Native Skin, The Drift, Lucent Dreaming, The Deadlands, Agbowó, Omenana Magazine, and elsewhere. Muhammed Sanni Olowonjoyin [TPC III] is a Nigerian poet and a student of Biochemistry at the University of Ilorin. He won The Dawn Prize for Poetry [2023], won Honorary Mention in the Akachi Chukwuemeka Prize for Literature [2023] and Kreative Diadem Poetry Contest (2022), and was third runner-up in the Nigerian Students’ Poetry Prize (2022). He and his poems have been featured or forthcoming in Writer Space Africa, Olney Magazine, Stanchion, Poetry Column NND, Brittle Paper, Quarter After Eight, The Bitchin’ Kitsch, TSTR, and elsewhere. He reads poetry for The Dodge Magazine and tweets @APerSe_.
