1) The Ohio State University (OSU) — Many departments offer Graduate Associate (GA) packages that include full tuition/fee authorization, a monthly stipend, and subsidized health insurance; competitive fellowships are also available.
2) University of Cincinnati (UC) — Teaching/Research/Graduate Assistantships provide stipends and typically include full or partial tuition scholarships; colleges publish minimum stipend policies (e.g., Engineering).
3) Case Western Reserve University — Many PhD programs fund students through TA/RA packages; e.g., Chemistry supports PhDs with assistantships at competitive stipends.
4) Miami University (Oxford) — Graduate assistantships across programs (e.g., English) come with a stipend plus waiver of instructional and out-of-state fees; additional Graduate School awards exist.
5) Ohio University (Athens) — Graduate appointments generally include a service stipend and a tuition scholarship; some schools (e.g., Communication Studies) specify full waivers + stipend.
6) Bowling Green State University (BGSU) — Many master’s and PhD students are funded; example: MFA offers 100% tuition scholarship + stipend; Graduate College sets assistantship guidelines.
7) Kent State University — Graduate assistantships commonly include a full tuition waiver plus stipend; the university codifies minimum tuition-remission levels for GAs.
8) Cleveland State University (CSU) — GA/TA roles typically combine a stipend with a scholarship/tuition support; certain schools (e.g., Music) explicitly offer tuition waivers. CSU also runs a Grant Tuition Program tied to externally funded research.
9) University of Toledo (UToledo) — Many departments fund grads via TA/RA with full tuition waiver + stipend (see, e.g., Environmental Sciences; Physics & Astronomy); additional fellowships available.
10) Wright State University — Assistantships and tuition scholarships provide tuition remission and stipends; some PhD programs publish current 12-month stipend levels (e.g., Environmental Sciences).
11) University of Akron — Graduate teaching/research assistantships may cover all/part of tuition and include a stipend; GA handbook outlines current policies.
12) Youngstown State University (YSU) — GA/TA/GRA positions carry a stipend plus remission of instructional fees (and non-resident surcharge where applicable).
13) University of Dayton (UD) — Many units offer graduate assistantships/fellowships with tuition remission plus a monthly stipend (usually up to 20 hours/week).
14) Xavier University — Graduate assistantships provide an hourly wage and tuition remission (terms vary by role and unit).
15) NEOMED (Northeast Ohio Medical University) — Doctoral admission in the research track typically includes a full tuition waiver, 12-month assistantship stipend, and subsidized health insurance (renewable up to 5 years with good standing).
16) John Carroll University — Competitive graduate assistantships can include remission of all tuition and fees (excl. graduation fee) plus a stipend; many posts are 20 hrs/week.
17) University of Findlay — GA roles (TA/RA) include a stipend and graduate-credit tuition remission (credit-hour caps apply); multiple assistantship tracks posted publicly.
18) Shawnee State University — Graduate assistantships provide a full tuition scholarship plus living stipend each semester of appointment (generally 20 hrs/week).
19) Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) — Limited, program-specific graduate assistantships (e.g., composition/conducting) function as work-based awards; most aid is via scholarships, but assistantships do exist. (Not universal full funding; check your major.)
20) Kent State (rule example) / Department-level notes — As a state example of how Ohio institutions define GA tuition coverage, Kent State’s administrative code requires set ranges of tuition remission for GAs, which is similar to many departments’ norms statewide. Use this as a model when comparing packages across Ohio.

How to Use This List
• Target the department page: Funding is almost always set at the program level (not just Graduate School).
• Confirm what “fully funded” means: Usually = full tuition + stipend + subsidized health insurance for a set number of years (often 2 for MA/MFA; 4–5 for PhD).
• Ask about summers: Summer support can be separate from the 9-month appointment.
• Mind renewals and benchmarks: Satisfactory progress, teaching evaluations, and GPA can affect renewal.
• Deadlines matter: Many assistantships/fellowships are awarded with admission decisions.
