Jesus College at the University of Cambridge has opened applications for two Research Fellowships for early-career researchers across a range of arts and humanities disciplines. The fellowships is open to Graduate students, particularly those in the later stages of research leading to a PhD and Postdoctoral researchers who have recently been awarded their PhD.
The fellowships are designed to support researchers whose proposed work demonstrates strong academic potential and makes a significant contribution to their chosen discipline. Applications are invited in the following subject areas: Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic Studies (ASNC), Education Studies, English, Law, Modern Languages, and Theology.
Applications are being accepted online, with the closing deadline set for 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. The fellowships are fixed-term appointments lasting three years, normally beginning on 1 October 2027.
The fellowship will provide a starting salary of £32,882, corresponding to step 35 of the University salary scale.Comparing Top University Degree Programs

Applications is in two stages. At stage one, applicants apply through the online form. The application must include two referees’ reports, which should be submitted as part of the online. Once shortlisted, the applicant will submit one piece of written work of up to 40,000 words and a 500-word statement explaining the importance of their current and proposed research.
Kindly note that Candidates who have undertaken more than five years of full-time research are unlikely to be considered under the standard criteria.
