The American University in Cairo (AUC), Egypt, is offering fellowship to international applicants at the University. In particular, AUC’s International Graduate Fellowship supports eligible international students who want to study full-time in a Master’s programme.
AUC provides different fellowships to help graduate students manage the cost of their studies. These awards include institutional fellowships funded by AUC and sponsored fellowships supported by donors or private organizations. For international students, the International Graduate Fellowship is one of the major opportunities. It supports full-time Master’s study in any graduate discipline at AUC.
Applications are open and they close based on section. For Spring 2027 cycle, the application closes on November 2, 2026. The Fall application is divided into two: Cycle 1 and Cycle 2. For Cycle 1, application opens December 22, 2026 and closes January 17, 2027. For Cycle 2, the application opens April 6, 2027 and closes May 6, 2027.
Applicants who are accepted into the fellowship program are eligible to receive:
- Tuition fees for up to 9 credits per semester
- Monthly stipend
- Student services and activities fees
- Medical services and health insurance
- Monthly housing allowance or AUC residence accommodation
- Opportunity to study at a leading university in Egypt
- International academic and professional exposure
- Teaching or academic work experience
Receiving this fellowship also comes with responsibilities. International Graduate Fellows must maintain full-time status and a minimum 3.2 GPA. In addition, fellows may need to complete around 12 hours per week of related academic work and complete mandatory training when teaching assistantship duties apply.
Application are accepted from any parts of the world..For the International Graduate Fellowship, applicants generally need to:
- Be an international student.
- Apply for a Master’s programme at AUC.
- Meet AUC’s graduate admission requirements.
- Receive full admission to an eligible graduate programme.
- Study full-time, normally taking 9 credits per semester.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Maintain at least a 3.2 GPA to retain the fellowship.
- Complete the required academic or teaching assistantship duties.
