a hook
dangling in the eyes/
a lip dripping of flames/ +

the burns
that birthed scars
from its harmony with the sand/ &

the tongue
that carries broken words/
a calendar of bruised name &

a palace of thorns/
a spear in the chest & a blade
in the stomach of the cage=

an escaped bird
in the thin air &
Jude got tied to a burnt concoction/

a neck — the witness of the union
of the rope & the
ceiling fan.              but, soil, be benevolent enough to give the boys a sound nap.

THE POET

Osho Olaìítan Jeremiah is a young Nigerian poet, teacher and student blending his words into pieces of writing from the beautiful city of Abeokuta, Ogun state.
