Arts Lounge Magazine is now seeking submissions for Volume 1, Issue 2 of its quarterly anthology. This
issue will be built around the theme of Migration. We are seeking an array of unbridled thoughts
on migration.

However, it must not be a crossing-the-border kind of narrative. We understand
that migration signals movement, but we also understand that movement can be as symbolic as it
is physical. You do not necessarily need to put a step after another to move to a different place.
We love for this issue to engage with the experience and thought of ‘Leaving Home’ in all its
manifestations and articulations. We are seeking for works that will make us leap in joy, pain,
monstrosity, love, hate, regrets, and satisfaction at the imagination of leaving home.
The issue will be guest-edited by the poet Erik Gleibermann.

Submissions opens on 25
November and will close on 20th January, 202
2.
The anthology is open to all writers without regard to any demography. We encourage diversity
and particularly encourage queer and unconventional pieces. Published and unpublished writers
are welcomed to submit.
We Accept the Following GENRES:
Poetry: You can submit three to five poems, with a maximum of 12 pages. Send us your punk,
experimental, strange and hybrid poems.
Prose: Submit short stories, creative non-fiction, and flash fiction pieces between 600 to 2000
words. As an open-minded publication, we accept almost every piece, not minding how daring or
controversial. However, it has to be constructed around the theme of migration.
Plays: Plays must be between 8-14 pages max (this includes all experimental pieces that fall
under the play or screenplay category)
Art: We accept pictures, illustrations, digital art, sculpture, and more, as long as it can be

prepared to make changes when requested during the design process. Kindly include an artist’s
statement.

General guidelines: send all submissions to artsloungenyc@gmail.com. The subject of your
submission should be ISSUE 2. Kindly state the genre you are submitting to in the body of your

an attached document. With respect to style and originality, kindly include a statement in your
