Lend me your ears, dear Mother Earth

beautiful are you and all that you beget

call on all beings, human or spirit

ring the golden bell

let the dust of the earth stand still

and the birds of the sky adorned with vibrant colors

fill you up with their beauty and sweet melody.

Look to the West, behold

the evening sun in its full glory

as it embellishes her bold steps

with a poem about her strength

and a soundtrack of her beauty

when she treads these beaten paths.

Scorned by most, yet she stands gangly

with a radiant smile masking her pain

in sight.

Time and tides galloped against her

in the plains like a deer on the run

to save dear life.

She is imperfections coined perfectly,

dancing through storms

gliding cross-country

naivety soiled finely like a scenic work of art

she dons a piece of bravery, just a tad

round her waist as a fence over a garden

to block the sneers as she obtrudes

like a gigantic rock,

surrounded by men who come

from all around to hear

soulful folklores

best told by lips coated in honey,

and a tongue bathed in the springs of humor.

Her heart houses a million lessons

learned in the tides and her eyes glow

with tales of a thousand battles

won over time.

born to the rising sun,

she allots hope to the despairing

but desperately mulls hope for dinner

when it is dusk.
