Weber—The Contemporary West is accepting submissions for its first online-only issue following its transition from print. The international literary journal is seeking unpublished short stories, creative nonfiction, poetry, and visual art that explore the environment, culture, and human experience of the American West and beyond.

The magazine welcomes writers and artists from around the world. Fiction submissions may be up to 6,000 words, creative nonfiction up to 4,000 words, poetry up to four pages, and art or photography up to five images. AI-generated work and previously published pieces are not accepted, though simultaneous submissions and English translations of works originally published in other languages are welcome.

Submissions should be emailed to submissions@weber.edu with the genre and author’s name in the subject line. Writers should also include a third-person biography, while artists are asked to provide a brief statement about their work. The submission deadline is August 28, 2026, and responses are expected within six months.
