Book lovers, coffee enthusiasts, and families are invited to Coffee & Books, a free community event presented by Annas Kafe in partnership with Cassava Republic. Taking place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, the event promises an afternoon of books, conversation, and fun at Anna’s Kafe in Maitama, Abuja.

Attendees can enjoy book swaps, discounted titles at the Cassava Republic pop-up bookshop, interactive trivia games with prizes hosted by Rhoda, engaging book talks, and a “Show & Tell” session where readers can share their favourite books. A dedicated Kids’ Corner will also feature books and games for young readers.

The event runs from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Anna’s Kafe, 5 Lualaba Close, Anthill (1st Floor), Maitama, Abuja, and admission is free. Whether you’re looking to discover new books, meet fellow readers, or simply enjoy coffee in good company, Coffee & Books offers something for everyone.

Sharon Onyinyechukwu Okey-Onyema is a Nigerian writer and editor working creative across narrative fiction, film and stage plays. She holds editorial experience at literary publications including Vocivia Magazine and The Muse: A Journal of English and Literary Studies. Her literary works have been published online, and her magical realist novella, Hunting Tears, was longlisted for the 2017 ANA/Abubakar Gimba Short Story Award. She has since judged the James Baldwin Prize and attended residencies including the ANA Ken Saro-Wiwa International Writers’ Residency and the Kokonut Head Writers-in-Residence Program.
