Africa Film Society (AFS) is accepting applications for its 2026 Internship Programme, offering emerging cultural workers and film enthusiasts the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at one of Ghana’s leading film institutions. The six-month internship begins in August 2026 and requires a commitment of two days per week (Fridays and Saturdays) at the organisation’s headquarters in East Legon, Accra. Selected interns will receive a weekly stipend while supporting AFS’s work in curation, archiving, communications, and events programming.
AFS is seeking detail-oriented, proactive applicants with a strong interest in cinema, music, literature, and youth culture. Founded in 2016 by Ghanaian filmmaker Blitz Bazawule, the organisation is dedicated to preserving Africa’s cinematic heritage, supporting filmmakers, and building audiences for African cinema through initiatives including its film library, exhibition space, theatre, and community screenings.
Interested applicants should email their CV and a one-page cover letter explaining their interest in interning with AFS to africafilmsociety@gmail.com. Applications close on 30 July 2026 at 11:59 p.m. GMT. Please note that the opportunity is open to local residents only.
