Applications are now open for the WILLYVERSE Micro Grant Cycle 002, a quarterly initiative supporting artists based in Lagos, Nigeria, and Toronto, Canada. Founded by multidisciplinary artist William Ukoh, the grant seeks to strengthen artistic exchange between the two cities while providing flexible financial support for creative practice. One recipient will receive CAD $1,250, with applications closing on July 31, 2026, and the selected artist announced on August 31, 2026.
This cycle invites projects exploring the theme “The Life We’re Living,” encouraging artists to reflect on memory, inheritance, and the changing nature of culture, including what is preserved, reshaped, and carried forward. The grant is open to artists at any career stage working in visual arts, including photography, painting, drawing, installation, sound, and interdisciplinary practices. Funding may be used for research, production, experimentation, documentation, exhibitions, materials, studio support, or professional development.
Applicants must submit a PDF containing a short artist statement, a project proposal, an explanation of how the project relates to the theme, portfolio links, and their contact details.
