Prague City of Literature is offering an opportunity to writers and translators to live and work in the beautiful city center where historical architecture meets modern and vibrant city life. Selected applicants will stay for two months in 2027. The residency is scheduled to hold as follows:
- January – February
- March – April
- May – June
- July – August
- September – October
- November – December
The application is currently open and will close on August 7, 2026, 11.59 pm CET. The results will be announced before October 31, 2026. Selected applicants’ accommodation and travel expenses will be covered by Prague City of Literature and the residents will also receive a scholarship of CZK 15,000 (approx. €600 per month).
To apply, applicants must note the following criteria:
- Basic knowledge of English language
- At least: one published (not self-published) literary work or a good number of anthology/literary journal entries (for writers); two broadcast/published radio dramas or one professionally staged/published theatre play (for playwrights); one translated work of Czech author (for translators)
- Willingness to participate on the local literary life
- Cultural interest for the location
