Applications for the American Lung Association Catalyst Grant Program are now open for early-career investigators interested on lung disease mechanisms and general lung biology.
“The American Lung Association Catalyst Grant Program is a research funding opportunity designed to support outstanding investigators who are transitioning toward independent research careers in lung science. The grant helps early-career researchers build strong research experience, develop scientific independence, and establish a foundation for future competitive research funding.”
Application is currently ongoing and will close on September 18, 2026. Successful applicants receive up to $50,000 per year and the grant runs for the maximum of 2 years, totalling $100,000 per applicant. While applications are open to those in the medical field, only doctoral-level holders, affiliated with an eligible institution, and without major award are eligible.
Applicants with the title MD and DO must have completed two years of research training after receiving their terminal degree. Those medical experts outside the United States are ineligible to apply. Qualified and interested applicants should prepare the following documents before applying:
