The Kenyon Review has opened applications for its 2027–29 Kenyon Review Fellowship, a two-year residential post-graduate programme in creative writing at Kenyon College in Ohio, USA. Beginning in August 2027, the fellowship will support writers as they undertake a significant writing project, teach one undergraduate course per semester in the English Department, and contribute to creative and editorial projects for The Kenyon Review. Fellows are required to live in the local community and participate in the cultural life of the college.

The fellowship is open to writers with an MFA in creative writing or a PhD in creative writing, English literature, or comparative literature, with degrees completed between January 1, 2021 and September 15, 2026. Applicants are also expected to have undergraduate teaching experience in creative writing and/or literature, as well as a history of publication in literary journals. The selected fellows will receive an annual $50,000 stipend, health benefits, professional development funding of $1,500 per year, and support for attending the 2028 and 2029 AWP Conference and Bookfair.

Applications require a one-page cover letter, an 8–10-page writing sample, a one-page course proposal, CV, unofficial transcript, and three recommendation letters, including one addressing the applicant’s teaching ability. Applications will be reviewed from September 1, 2026, and must be submitted by September 30, 2026 to guarantee full consideration. The fellowship offers an opportunity for emerging writers to develop their literary work while gaining teaching and editorial experience within one of the United States’ established literary institutions.
