The Enugu-based multimedia studio behind League of Gods, a mobile game inspired by African mythology, is now developing Ani, an Igbo comic series centred on the 31-year Ekumekwu resistance against British colonial rule. Leopard Skins’ wider storytelling universe draws on African histories, cosmologies and spiritual figures, with Ani featuring figures including Amadioha, Ala, Ogbunabali and Ekwensu.

As development of League of Gods continues, Leopard Skins has opened a waitlist for its upcoming mobile game prototype and is inviting members of the public to participate in testing and shaping the project. The studio previously generated significant attention with an early gameplay demonstration featuring Ekwensu and Sango, which received more than 3,300 likes, 500 reposts and nearly 400,000 views on X.

Founded by Idenze Somto Ezeme and Victor Uzoma, Leopard Skins describes itself as a multimedia studio using technology, comics and games to bring African stories and characters to wider audiences. Its projects include Ani, League of Gods, Aquarius and Ogun, with the studio positioning community participation as part of its approach to developing new African-inspired interactive and visual stories.
