The Brenda Strafford Foundation Ltd., in Calgary AB, is recruiting a Health Care Aide on part-time contract to join their medical team. The foundation envisages taking pride in providing the highest standard of care, service, and safety, and wants to employ an Aide to act with compassion, empathy and understanding towards clients.

“The Health Care Aide is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for providing direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort, and safety of our residents and indirect services to support the overall provision of care in their assigned area.”

• Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the resident needs
• Observe and report unusual signs/symptoms and incidences to the profession al nursing staff
• Provide timely information to the supervising professional regarding observed changes in physical, mental or emotional status/behavior of the residents
• Participate in the care plan for our residents
• Recognize residents’ challenges related to vision, hearing, speech, and language and adapt practice to minimize these challenges
• Document all care provided and behaviors noted on the appropriate forms and in the Point of Care (POC) system
• Promote a healthy and safe practice environment – recognizing safety issues and reporting them immediately
