Elves Special Needs Society is hiring three qualified candidates for a Special Needs Teacher to work on site at their location in Edmonton AB. Teachers work only on early morning shifts, and are expected to work for 35 hours per week.
For each hour, a remuneration of 33.00 to 40.00 is paid. They also enjoy health benefits, financial benefits, long term benefits, amongst others.
Only teachers proficient in English are welcome to apply. Each must have a year or two years of experience. Also, they must possess emergency child care first aid and CPR, membership in a provincial or territorial teachers’ association or federation and provincial or territorial teaching certificate.
Applicants must be graduates too. They are to perform the following functions:
- Discuss results and students’ progress with them, their parents and school officials
- Evaluate and document students’ progress
- Participate in staff meetings
- Supervise teaching assistants and train student teachers
- Develop course content
- Identify childrens’ individual learning needs
- Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development and their school readiness
- Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help
- Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum
