The CAAR Scholars Junior Research is opening its fellowship programme to international applicants. The opportunity is particularly relevant to young people seeking to build a strong foundation in research while gaining exposure to experienced researchers and professionals working across different fields.
“The Junior Research Fellow Programme is an initiative of the Centre for Advanced and Applied Research (CAAR Scholars), a multidisciplinary research and policy institute focused on producing evidence-based solutions to development challenges in Ghana, Africa and beyond.”
Applications are currently open, with interested candidates required to submit their applications by 25 September 2026. The programme is scheduled to begin in October 2026 and will run for six weeks.
CAAR works at the intersection of research, policy and practical development, with areas of work including climate and sustainability, governance and policy, economic development, technology and artificial intelligence, environmental management, and business and finance.
The programme will cover the following areas, giving students maximum exposure to practical experiences of these fields. All applicants will develop immensely their academic writing skill, which will be an essential part of the program. Then they will gain mastery in research methods and research ethics. Another component will focus on data collection and analysis, giving participants exposure to processes involved in gathering, organising and interpreting research information.
The programme is open to international applicants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds such as:

- Early-career researchers
- Young professionals
