Save The Snakes, An NGO, is calling for applications for the Vijayan Devan Southeast Asian Snake Conservation Grant to help prevent the decline of snake populations and mitigate human-snake conflict. The grant prioritizes underrepresented conservationists and community-based practitioners whose projects align with the mission of Save The Snakes to protect snake populations through education and outreach.
The grant is open to individuals and organizations, including conservationists, researchers, and educators, especially those who are underrepresented in the fields of herpetology and conservation. Eligible projects must be based in Southeast Asia and align with community-based conservation strategies. Successful applicants will receive US$2,500 to support their projects over one year.
For the 2026 application cycle, the deadline is August 31. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered. Successful applicants will be notified of the funding decision by October 1.
The application process consists of two stages. The first stage is the online application, where applicants must complete and submit the official application form available on the organization’s website. The second stage is the email application. Applicants must email the following documents:
- Resume or CV
- Itemized project budget
- Three photos demonstrating their work
- Reference letters (strongly encouraged)
At the end of the one-year grant period, successful applicants are expected to submit a short project report describing the outcomes of their project and its impact on snake conservation. They are also expected to provide open access to any resulting publications or collected data.
